Description One pair of short, black, squared toe, pull-on, side buckle shoes with thick soles and 1/2” horseshoe shaped heels. Both the soles and heels are nailed with hand wrought nails. The top leathers are two separate pieces: the toe, bridge and tongue leather and the sides and back leather. The two leathers meet and overlap slightly on both the right & left upper side arch areas. Attached to the side leathers are two small leather straps that are sewn and studded. It is to these straps that the buckle is attached and the prong holes are punched. The ankle-heel areas are reinforced. Note of interest: The bottom soles still have dried hay and dung or mud embedded. 4 x 3 3/8 x 9”
