Description This is a one piece, high waisted “rainbow” silk dress. The fabric design is of alternating colours of silver and brown over gold vertical bands with seams trimmed in grey piping. The bodice has a high, square neckline trimmed in cream lace. There is a sewn overpays, a sort of bodice apron, that begins as a Peter Pan collar in the back, then sits over the bodice with three sets of sewn tabs that cross over the upper chest and two pointed tabs that hang down over the upper skirt. The bodice is sewn into a separate waistband, lined in a cream linen, has a nine hook & eye back closure and gigot styled sleeves trimmed in cream lace. The bottom of the waistband is sewn into the skirt. The skirt is gathered and unlined except for the hem area.
