Description 10 1/8 x 7 7/8”, Silk, linen thread, human hair, wood, gesso, gilt. Framed memorial worked in black silk satin bordered by 1/8” wide white silk tape; letters are worked in long and short stitches in a combination of hair and probably linen thread, the former twisted around and held down by the latter; the hair is believed to be that of George and Lady Washington; the whole is mounted on a wooden board and backed with laid paper; the molded period frame has a narrow inner bead; complete text found in object file.
