Description This is a T- shaped Medallion style quilt with a handkerchief centerpiece. The handkerchief depicts "Gays Shepherd's Week" from 1814 with a central scene surrounded by cartouches. The rest of the fabric dates to prior the 1814 date of the handkerchief. The fabrics include a John Hewson fabric, a brown monochrome toile of a man and a woman, and a blue monochrome toile of an eagle. Finally the border fabric contains a print of round cartouches encircled by leafy vines. The border fabric was made by hand from India.
