Description 9 x 13”, Earthenware, pearlware. Oval-shaped tureen and cover with bulbous (pear-shaped) body and flared foot. Scrolled handles rise above rim. The lid rises to a point in the center where a large rectangular molded finial with pointed top is located. The tureen is transfer-printed in blue in the Eastern Street Scene pattern which includes a large tree on the left, exotic buildings with awnings and three people walking in the foreground. The handles and finials have a white dot on blue ground pattern; around the foot is a flowering vine pattern over a circle-within-square-over-rope border.
